A friend of mine. :) the first is the original, it probably would have looked at least a little bit better if i had used a scanner instead of taking a picture of it. The second is an digital effect. I'm trying to work on my people-drawing skills because i feel like i can never get their face to look exactly like them. :/

Sketches=Coloring pages?? :o
So today I was babysitting for a 5 year old girl and a 2 year old boy, and while I was upstairs putting the little boy to bed, I told the little girl she could look at my sketchbook while she was waiting for me. When I came downstairs, she had moved to the table and while she looked up at me innocently, i noticed that she had torn a page out of my sketchbook (one of the pages i posted down below) and had colored it all in with crayons. A little bit surprised, I said "oh, you uh...colored a pretty picture didnt you? it looks very nice!" and she beamed up at me and said "yes! i really liked this picture and i wanted to color it!" I guess she thought it was a homemade coloring book...slightly disappointing that the certain page of sketches is no more, but at least my sketches went to good use! :) haha

Look for Hope
Even amidst the desolation and decline of our world today, there is still hope, love, life, and light.
The candle represents this as it emits its little light against the blackness, even though surrounded by darkness and grim circumstances. {Look for the good in all the bad.}

Still-Life...
Here is a charcoal drawing I made today at a drawing class at a local art college. There were 4 or 5 mannequins or skeletons with sheets wrapped around them and set up around the room...it was either that or skulls to draw for still-life options, sooo yes I know it looks slightly creepy! haha
The first is something I did in my extra time while at a high school art workshop at a local art college today, and is all charcoal except for the red umbrella, which is soft pastel. The second is a project I did for art class at school; the assignment was to use sharpie, charcoal, watercolor, oil pastel, soft pastel, graphite, marker, and techniques such as cross hatching, hatching, pointalism, and texturing ALL in one piece.
